Just took me 31 years to fully embrace my natural curls/waves and the reality is... they're flawed.
Some days they're frizzy.
Some days they fall flat.
Some days they do something completely different than the day before.
For a long time I thought "good hair" meant controlled hair. Perfect hair. Straight hair. Easy hair. And honestly, I carried a lot of insecurity around that for years. That's a huge part of why I built i wanted to build my entire business around textured hair. I wanted to create a space where people could show up exactly as they are and not feel like they needed to be "fixed" to be beautiful. A space where texture isn't the problem. Where curls, waves, density, frizz, growth patterns, all of it is welcomed instead of judged.
Because hair is personal.
It's tied to confidence, identity, childhood memories, beauty standards, and sometimes even shame. I know what it feels like to sit in a chair and feel misunderstood. I know what it feels like to fight your natural texture instead of learning it.
In my chair, I hold the belief that beauty does not have to equal perfection. My goal is to help you LEARN your hair, not fight it.
